Xi Educational Foundation of Arkansas is organized as a nonprofit corporation exclusively for charitable and education purposes, including distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt under such Section 501(c)(3) and specifically for the purpose of furthering the educational purposes of Xi chapter of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity in Arkansas, including:
(i) providing scholarship awards to university students to pay for tuition, books, room and board, tutoring assistance and other educational costs;
(ii) providing payment for the costs of training and instruction university students in the prevention and treatment of alcohol and drug abuse and other health and safety subjects that are of concern to university students;
(iii) providing conditional grants to one or more fraternity housing corporations which qualify as Section 501(c)(7) tax exempt organizations (a “Housing Corporation”) to pay for the costs of constructing or remodeling those areas of one or more fraternity chapter houses that are used exclusively for educational purposes, including the library, study rooms, and computer rooms;
(iv) providing conditional grants to a Housing Corporation to pay for books, computers, software and computer accessories, including wiring and telephone lines, furniture and fixtures to be used in the educational areas of the chapter house;
(v) providing conditional grants to a Housing Corporation to pay for the maintenance costs, such as property taxes, insurance premiums, utilities and other operating costs, allocable to the educational area of the chapter house; and
(vi) making gifts to other Section 501(c)(3) tax exempt organizations including fraternity and university organizations.
